Science and Engineering Hub
Introduction
Hey there, welcome to my blog! I’m Alina, a 16-year-old high school student from New Zealand, currently navigating the exciting world of STEM while taking on the IB curriculum. My current subjects are psychology, maths AA, English language and literature, chemistry, physics, and French, which keep me busy and engaged and are (in my personal opinion) quite fascinating topics. In addition to my studies, I’m also participating chemistry and biology Olympiads, which fuel my passion for science discovery. These competitions challenge me to think critically and creatively, pushing me to the depths of my interests in the life sciences. In college, I hope to study biomedical engineering, particularly in human-machine interfaces and their potential applications in prosthetics. I believe that technology plays a crucial role in the lives of individuals with disabilities, and I’m excited to learn more about we can bridge the gap between biology and technology. Through this blog, I aim to inspire and empower other young women to pursue passions in STEM fields. Join me on this journey as I share insights, personal experiences and generally information that I find interesting, and let’s break down the barriers!
